Never Let Fear Overtake Your Faith

Updated: Jul 4, 2023

I recently had an opportunity to sit down and visit with Coach E for my podcast. We talked about purpose and the challenges it brings. Coach E’s purpose has taken her through a lot of challenges. Her realistic view and the struggles she went through give us a direct look into how purpose can shape your life. Here’s some of what she had to share.

Stay the Course Even When Business Is Not Good

Today, Coach E is the owner of three businesses, You Are An Asset Financial Group, Elite Youth Worldwide, and Everything New, LLC. Her mission is to educate, empower, and inspire people to take control of their finances, businesses, and lives.

The first thing Coach E tells us is that this was no easy feat because business was not always good. There were many struggles along the way to the point that she and her kids were homeless without always having a clear direction of where to turn. But even though she was in need, her focus never left the needs of others. Even when she was not able to have the type of Christmas she wanted with her children, she ensured others were able to have one. She stayed the course, and her course, whether she was on her feet or in need, was always about helping others.

Develop Positive Coping Mechanisms

Coach E reminds us that getting to your purpose is not easy. For her, it was a slow walk that involved strategic planning—creating a budget, setting goals, and sticking to them. A positive attitude tipped it all off. While she admits that most people she works with see maintaining a budget as something negative, Coach E says that budgeting is not a bad thing, it’s about managing how you move your money. We have to develop better habits and recondition ourselves.

When Coach E spoke of some of the challenges she had to struggle through, imposter syndrome was high on the list. She had to learn to be comfortable with who she was and not what other people expected her to be.

I’m an individual … I don’t look like everybody else. I don’t talk like everybody else. I don’t move like everybody else … within that, I have to accept that … I’m who I am and there are people that are called specifically to me that I have to reach out to that will recognize me based on where I am and what I have to say. If I’m trying to be something that I believe everybody else wants me to be, I’m going to miss the people that I’m called to service.” –Coach E

This is one of the reasons why she feels personal development should be at the top of every entrepreneur’s list. Working on yourself is extremely important—that and having the right people around you can take you far on your purpose journey.

Just Take It One Step at a Time - The Blessings Will Come

Coach E says every challenge has shaped who she is today. She expects everything she’s accomplished to this point to be evident even when she’s no longer here. The challenges were necessary and have even made a positive imprint on her children. The challenges they’ve seen her through, help to ensure her and them that they too will persevere.

To anyone afraid to get started on their purpose, her advice is don’t let fear keep you from your blessing. When we let fear stop us, then we’ve given it control of us. Take baby steps every single day and apply one thing at a time. If you don’t know what to do, just slow down and take your time, listen for the still voice to let you know what to do. And you may need to do more than one thing to know what your purpose is.

“Your purpose is a process that will unveil itself as you move forward … you gotta walk it out.”

Final Thoughts

Finally, Coach E reminds us that we’re never alone. Take the steps and everything else will move with you. Don’t worry about anything, just step out because you’re never alone. Faith cancels fear. You can’t have a spirit of fear and then walk in faith at the same time. Something is going to get canceled out. Don’t let fear overtake your faith.
