The Best Is Yet To Come

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

It’s so great to meet people who are truly on a path that is destined for them. Such is the case with Angela Mosley, Owner and Operator of Ms. TJ’s Sauce. I recently sat down with Angela for a podcast episode, and I loved what she had to share about purpose and her journey.

The first thing I learned about Angela is that everything she is doing is inspired by her children. She influences her two sons and her two sons are greatly influenced by her, so much so that her oldest is looking to follow in her footsteps.

Sauce Gives a Bang to Everythang

Angela admits she wasn’t trying to start a business. But one day at a work event, when she saw the reaction she was getting from her homemade sauce, it made her take notice. She also noticed that the masses were using the sauce for just about everything on their plates, not just what she brought along with it. It was then that she saw how important the sauce was to just about everything people were consuming.

Not one to miss an opportunity, Angela immediately went into action with a logo and from that day, Ms. TJ’s Sauce was born. It wasn’t just one sauce, over the course of her business journey, she would come up with seven sauces that would definitely appeal to just about anything it touches. Angela markets her brand with the slogan, Gives a bang to everythang, and she is on a mission to change lives one taste bud at a time.

Ms. TJ’s Sauce quickly got noticed—from Fox News to the international hotel chain, Marriott. Going to the next level is crucial for building the legacy she wants for her kids.

Push Past All the Noise

Building a legacy is hard work. And Angela will be the first to tell you that she had to sacrifice a lot to get to where she is today. There were times when she and her kids went without. They had to make swift changes throughout their journey, even picking up everything and moving to new surroundings where they knew no one. That was an extreme challenge within itself. With no family to help support her efforts, Angela still continued to push to fulfill her purpose. And it paid off in a big way.

Angela’s challenges took her off of social media for nearly a year because the break was needed. But it all made her appreciate where she is today. She needed to block all the noise and the voices telling her to quit. God didn’t want her to quit, only to focus and get out of her own way. Social media, the same thing she had to take a break from, is the same medium she used later to help her business to flourish. She now knows how to handle all the negativity and naysayers that sometimes take the stage during a purpose journey. She now makes better choices along the way, and knows to keep pushing, regardless.

I don’t miss an opportunity to market. When you’re hungry and you have a why … I want people to understand that’s one of the goals of pushing past what people say you can’t do. When you can do it just by opening your mouth and sharing what you do.” -Angela Mosley

Angela was not shy about marketing her product, knowing she had something that was one of a kind, and that could be enjoyed by everyone. She marketed whenever the opportunity presented itself. Today, #whatsthesauce is her founded hashtag that follows her and her sauce wherever they go.

Be Ready To Open the Door to New Opportunities

Angela has more going for her than just her famous sauces. A former performer of the Apollo Theater, Angela is also an amazing poet and singer. With food and music being the keys to opening people’s hearts and bringing people together, it’s only a matter of time before other doors make themselves available. And when they do, you can bet Angela will be opening those doors as well, because the best is yet to come.

Her sauce is just the beginning. She knows she’s been called for more. “We all have a calling; we need to understand what that calling is.”

Her advice for anyone trying to get to their purpose is to keep on moving and never miss an opportunity to market yourself.
