Recently, I had the chance to sit and talk with Minister Regina Price about purpose. We had a great discussion and Minister Price gave us some great takeaways about purpose by the end of the podcast. I’m excited to share some special points with you.
We Have Many Ways To Identify Our Purpose
Minister Price tells us that purpose is already inside of us. God has given each of us unique gifts to use in a special way. She expressed there are many ways to identify your purpose. One way is through a gift assessment test. It’s also great to connect with a life coach or mentor as you try to identify your purpose. Podcasts can also be great at helping you to look within yourself to find yourself. She also directs us back to our creator. God, being our creator, has the blueprint for our lives, so why not go back to the one who created you?
“It’s just like purchasing a new appliance in your home. In order to find out how that appliance really works, you literally have to read or contact the manufacturer. It’s just that simple, so why not go back to the creator?” – Regina Price
We Have To Shine
What I have learned about purpose is that our purpose is not about us, but about being of service to others. When I asked Minister Price about how what she does every day relates to her living her purpose, she explained that her company, A Lite 4 Life, LLC is dedicated to sharing an inspiring message of faith, hope and light to those in darkness and despair. She went on to say that we are the light of the world. We just can’t sit a candle on a bushel and leave it there. We have to shine.
We are designed to be a light. There’s so much darkness in the world; people are hurting and need inspiration and encouragement. We need to be that help to one another. We were not created to do life alone. We need one another. God has called us to faith, hope and light and she says that is her assignment.
Outside of Purpose, We’re Just Living
Minister Price had some specific words for those of us not focused on our purpose. In her own words she says that outside of purpose, we’re just living. We’re living but is it really fulfillment? Happiness is a temporary state or condition. When the storms of life come, what happens to that happiness? It’s our purpose that keeps us focused on what’s important. When we’re focused on our purpose it doesn’t matter what comes. Purpose is the key to living our best life, regardless of what’s going on around us.
“The two most defining moments in our lives are the day we were born and the day we discover why – and that’s our purpose.” – Regina Price
