What Does a Life of Purpose Look Like?

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

Now that you're on your journey to discovering your life's purpose, you may be wondering what a life dedicated to fulfilling a purpose might actually look like. If you followed the steps I provided in my previous blog, you should be on your way to identifying your purpose and writing your mission statement to what YOUR life of purpose would look like.

But if it makes you feel better, I've found seven life of purpose statements (in no particular order) from real people who are dedicated to living their purpose.

Statement Number One

"My purpose in life is to rejuvenate the soul, learn about God, love, life, happiness & hope. Unleashing the God-given beauty, strength & vibrance within others through the love in my heart; creating happiness, caring for others, while resting in God’s arms."

Statement Number Two

“My purpose in life is to solve problems by changing the status quo.”

Statement Number Three

“My purpose in life is to teach other parents of kids with ADHD how to positively parent to help their kids.”

Statement Number Four

“My purpose in life is to empower myself to empower others.”

Statement Number Five

“My life purpose is to stand up for issues that I believe in and to contribute positively to my community. I want to leave the world knowing that I made it a better place.”

Statement Number Six

“My life’s purpose is to be a caretaker of the Earth by living a life of zero waste and reducing my carbon footprint.”

And last but not least, drum roll, please! My life statement is one that I had to think hard about. I can say for the last ten years or so, I've been on this path about purpose. I have learned that there are people in this world who truly believe they don't have anything to contribute to the world, or they don't have a clue what their purpose is. I'm on a mission to change those mindsets, as I believe that we all have a purpose. God made us all for His glory, and beyond that for each of us to be called to a specific purpose. I believe there is a ministry in each one of us. No, not all of us are called to preach, but there are other ways to minister. I'm ministering right now through this blog. My suggestion to you is to start with what brings you passion and build on your purpose from there. Not only can it be a ministry, but it can be a good, legitimate, and honest way to make a living. I'll talk more about that later. In the meantime, here's my purpose, which I found was not easy to come up with.

Statement Number Seven

"My life's purpose is to guide others toward their purpose in life, and to fulfill what brings me passion through entrepreneurship."

Remember, your mission statement is specific to ONLY YOU - no one else. It doesn't have to resemble anyone else's. It just has to reflect who you are. It can be expanded to include multiple things or a singular thing. It can be incorporated into ministry or through earning a living.

I hope this information has been helpful to you.
